Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Who We Are
OpenGate ("we", "us", "our") operates the OpenGate Chrome extension and the website at opengatepro.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
Short version: We collect as little as possible. Most data never leaves your browser.
Data stored locally on your device (never sent to us):
- Your selected marketplace preference
- Your Keepa API key (if you choose to enter one)
- Scan history, bookmarks, and alert history
- Your ASIN watchlist
This data is stored in Chrome's local storage on your device. We cannot access, read, or retrieve it.
Data processed but not stored:
- Your Amazon Seller Central session — the extension uses your existing login session to check ungating status. We do not collect, store, or transmit your Amazon credentials or session cookies.
- ASIN data from Amazon product pages — scraped in your browser to display product details. This data is not sent to any external server.
Data handled by third parties:
- ExtensionPay / Stripe — processes your subscription payment. They collect your email address and payment information. We do not have access to your full payment details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Keepa — if you provide a Keepa API key, requests are sent directly from your browser to Keepa's API. See Keepa's Privacy Policy.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information, analytics, or telemetry
- We do not track your browsing activity
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties
- We do not use cookies on our website
- We do not run advertising or ad trackers
4. How Your Data Is Used
All extension functionality runs locally in your browser. The only external requests made are:
- To Amazon Seller Central — to check ASIN ungating status (using your logged-in session)
- To Amazon product pages — to scrape product details (title, price, rank, images)
- To Keepa's API — only if you provide an API key, to fetch sales rank history
- To ExtensionPay — to verify your subscription status
5. Permissions
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage — to save your preferences, bookmarks, and scan history locally
- alarms — to run weekly ungating rechecks for your watchlist
- notifications — to alert you when watched ASINs become ungated
- Host access to Amazon and Keepa domains — to make API requests for ungating checks and product data
6. Data Retention
All locally stored data remains on your device until you clear it (via the extension's settings or by uninstalling the extension). We have no ability to delete your local data because we never receive it.
Payment and subscription data is retained by Stripe according to their data retention policies.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Clear all local extension data at any time via the extension's settings
- Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data
- Cancel your subscription at any time through the extension
- Contact us to request information about any data associated with your account
8. Children's Privacy
OpenGate is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
